“The Truth Finder” by Penny Luker

the truth finder

The Truth Finder is a fantasy story for young adults. It is the story set in the fifth millennium, of Vrail, a young man who has to learn to live with the difficulties and joys of being able to read people’s minds.

The book was inspired by my wondering how the human race will develop, considering how much we have developed so far and taking account of the way we humans seem to almost self-destruct by fighting each other. It also looks at how we try to improve life.

I wrote this book as part of NaNoWriMo 2012. I am an advocate NaNoWriMo as it gets you writing. It shows you that it’s perfectly possible to write 2000 words a day and so you feel some success. For me the downside was that the first version needed a complete rewrite. There were abandoned story lines and characters and I was not happy with the timeline in the book. I have spent two years rewriting, editing and proof reading until I decided it was as good as I could make it. This is not the way I normally write and I won’t do another one this way. I like to plan the novel, write a Chapter and then edit as I go along. I keep revising as I’m writing and my next book will be written in my usual way.

For NaNoWriMo, this year I’m doing my own thing of writing a poem a day (my NaNoPoMo) and next year I may join back in, but write a short story a day.

The Truth Finder can be purchased from Amazon url http://www.amazon.co.uk/Truth-Finder-Future-Earth-Book-ebook/dp/B00HSOQUS2/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1415621127&sr=1-1&keywords=penny+luker
It’s £1.90 on Amazon kindle and £6.99 in paperback. The brilliant cover was painted by my artist brother-in-law Graham Luker.
