Thursday Fun n Frolics 16.3.17 is for Dom Collucci of Agnishatdal

Sharmishtha Basu@ Agnishatdal: Tell us something about yourself!
Dominic Collucci: ~I am a US Navy veteran that served during Viet Nam. I have worked at the Veteran’s Administration for 36 years and now retired from it. Went back to work as a private contractor as an image specialist for a company that does work for New York State. Recently got appointed for another government job which I soon will be taking. Love to go mountain hiking as to this date did 103 low peak mountains in eastern both southern and northern tiers of New York State, also western Massachusetts, and western Vermont. I love to write as when I do go on a trail or mountain I get inspired in what is there as I practice ZAZEN and I love the silence and stillness these places offer. I have been going solo but did have a partner awhile back as it all began in October 2010, My life has been nothing but a continuance of joy. As I wrote three books which are globally distributed and the names are, The Tree Becomes A Soul, The Love of My Life, and Love Continues from Within. I have been inspired from many years ago from people as yourself to write and make poetry.

Sharmishtha Basu@ Agnishatdal: How did an army veteran became a Zen expert and poet?
Dominic Collucci: ~As a navy veteran, I became a person of ZEN* really from two awakened truths. One was in the Navy at the last of days I was leaving and the other was an awakening in January 1985. It was all through silence and breaking away from people in my life. I felt more in tune with who I am and no longer to be a part of the crowd. A voice came to me as my whole life came to balance back in January 1985 and sort of experienced a Kundalini. As this voice told me in a very monotone voice that “this is ZEN*”, I did not know what ZEN* was so I looked it up and my first real book of understanding was The Way to Zen by Alan Watts. ZEN* teaches one in meditation on how to eliminate chatter in one’s head. This is why it is essential to be of stillness and silence. It also shows clarity and from this clarity wisdom is told within. U did break away from it for a very long time say about 22 years and suffered with a lot of ignorance and desires in my life in between but it was a shift in awareness that turned my life around back in February 2007 that I started seeing a greater picture in gratitude and finally the words of wisdom came once again. If it was not for that I would have never been able to write my poetry or be an author as well.

Sharmishtha Basu@ Agnishatdal: You hike a lot, and capture fabulous scenes in your camera, tell us a little about those moments!
Dominic Collucci: ~When I go hiking I see a vision of complete stillness achieving a goal in getting to summit but along the way up one enjoys the beauty in the surround and has to stop and take pictures of the trails, the climb over rocks and boulders, the interesting hikers either going up the mountain or down. When one reaches the summit on such expeditions all one can do is take in the beauty that God lay before myself.I usually sit for an hour or two depending how late it is and do a meditation and take it all in. Rather breathtaking indeed.

Sharmishtha basu@ Agnishatdal: Will you tell us a little about your published works, individually and share their links (from where we can buy them) and their cover pictures.
Dominic Collucci: ~My published works came from people as yourself inspiration to pursue from making my poetry into books. I have over 3000 poems on two websites. I rarely go to them anymore but after looking at what I wrote back in 2009 I seen I can make a journey with these poems and made a book. The tree becomes a soul- the first was an experience about meditations I use to do at the Veterans Administration during break as I got inspired by ZEN* in nature and use to sit under a pine tree with a squirrel friend near me.

I shifted gears to romance with the next two books “The love of my life” and “Love continues from within” and seen how the beauty of love could be in poetic form. It came from within as this is our Soul* that knows of our lives ahead of us.

I was inspired by David Robert Ord, a Director of Editors @ Namaste Publishing with the first book and the two others was an inspired write from the editors @ my self-publishing place, Lulu Publishing. I have another manuscript and it is just sitting here but lately I have been hung up with many other things in my life. Oh by the way it was my mother who was the biggest influence in my life with inspiration, God rest her Soul*.

Sharmishtha Basu@ Agnishatdal: Any book coming up?
Dominic Collucci: ~No upcoming books to be published but later on in life I will probably spring back into action once again.

Sharmishtha Basu@ Agnishatdal: Do you have any plans of publishing a book of your photography, too many of them are fantastic, with a poem or introspection from you with them will make a fantastic book worth reading and relishing!
Dominic Collucci: ~That would be nice to put photography in my books with all the places I have been in the past 6 years. What is so sad is that my father was a road designer and artist for the State of NY DOT and he has been gone many years since 1999 and I would have love for him to do the illustrations for the books I have now.. Maybe ine day I will write a book about myself and possibly use a poetic format in doing so but that is not for awhile.

Sharmishtha Basu@ Agnishatdal: Any suggestion for Agnishatdal?
Dominic Collucci: ~I really do not have any suggestions for the ezine Agnishatadl as it is already a great read. I just wish I had more time and a printer to print it out and read it whenever I chose.

Sharmishtha Basu@Indie Adda: Do you have anything to say, suggest Indie Authors?
Dominic Collucci:~No I do not. Every author has a unique signature about themselves. It is up to the reader to be creative in what they have written and start their own imagination. I remember when I was told many years ago about writing my poetry, to keep it interesting and come up with an ending that will make the interest worthwhile,
