Was not he blooming like a flower in sky?
After the encounter with the review swap stuff in goodreads I took a step, a brazen step and created a group there, hoping to bring together author interested in review-swaps, readers generous enough to give reviews.
Lately I have been spending some time in Goodreads and Linkedin, and really liked the way goodreads works, it truly is a good platform for writers and readers, so I am about to give it a good shot, for at least a few months and see if I can build that group to something truly good for us, the Indie authors. If I can’t well then I will become less frequent there but if I can, then I think, firmly believe it will be worthwhile!
If you are in goodreads, help me? Join me there, add your name, your book, your blogs in the sections mentioned and interact with each other, just keep me in tag, by leaving a message in the group discussions that you are swapping reviews etc.
Hope it will become what I believe it can.
The group id:
If You are an Indie artist, author and want to talk about your blog, your book or your gallery, album feel free to write a letter to me, in email@example.com, I will conduct an interview and publish your interview here and if you allow it then in Agnishatdal and the related sites to both, facebook, goodreads etc.
We all can do with a little helping hand once in a while, I have always been helped by my friends and so, I will love to help you guys too, in any way it is good for both.
World is not very easy for Indie publishing, and in the end, we all dream of being read by others, because that is the reason we write and take that dream another step forth- publish that work. So, there is no reason to be shy about it I believe. At present, everyone is writing, so the blogs are full of authors talking about their own works, if you want someone else to talk about your works, let me help you!
My benefit? Well, I will be able to fill up my blog with something good without churning up my idea machine, which right now is fully occupied with my ezines agnishatdal (agnishatdalezine.wordpress.com) and agnijaat (Agnijaat.wordpress.com).
Let’s help each other?
We had a solar eclipse this year, in February I believe, just a bit was sliced off by invading moon, I could see the sliced away part with my own eyes, but my camera, my darling camera filled up the circle.
It does the same with moon, too, the eyes see the sickle moon, it makes it full moon!
Have a fun Friday!
Recent encounter with reviewers. Well, as I am seriously trying to create something(s) out of my twins, Agnishatdal and Agnijaat the Ezines I was trying to get some reviews on them.
Initially I started with my own blogs, left messages that I will be glad if someone takes a look in the ezines and gifts me with a review, I will gift the ezines in return but tragedy struck and I got not a single mail!
Can you believe it? I guess all my readers are authors! Ha! I wish someone had given me an ezine for a free read and asked for a review in return, I would have happily given that, even with my tight, crazy schedule.
Anyways, after that I tried goodreads, and one of the groups instantly removed my “review swap” requests from its posts, told me that it is against the rules of the groups. Next time I will simply ask for reviews in that group, if they allow it, but as far as I remember I have read at least one thread requesting a review swap in that group, maybe that slipped their eyes too he he!
Now, why don’t these readers understand that “review swap” is not “compliment swap”! It is just two authors helping each other by checking out the other’s work? If I was looking for “Compliments” I would have asked my friends to simply leave a comment in my blog praising the ezines without reading them! I am sure a few of them would have done that!
How can I expect someone to read my works if I don’t read hers or his?
